BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Maggs is the current team Dr. and former owner of the Albany Patroons. He’s been involved with and has worked very closely with the Albany Patroons and former Patroon Head Coach Derrick Rowland since the mid-80’s. Dr. Maggs is a chiropractor who specializes in sports biomechanics. He is the developer of The Structural Management® Program and The Structural Fingerprint® Exam (SFE), which is the most widely used biomechanical exam available in the country today.

Dr. Maggs believes prevention of sports injuries is absent in today’s Sportsmedicine Industry, as the current system provides reactive care with virtually no prevention. In 2004, Dr. Maggs developed the Concerned Parents of Young Athletes™ Program hoping to raise the awareness of sports biomechanics in the middle and high school athlete community. His SFE is now performed by many Drs. nationwide who have trained under Dr. Maggs. In 2020, after 9 games, the Patroons reported zero injuries. Every player was completely under Dr. Maggs’ Structural Management® Program.

Dr. Maggs is the Director of Sports Biomechanics at Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, New York, and is in the school one day per week treating those student/athletes who have gone through his examination.

Dr. Maggs is also the Director of Sports Biomechanics for The Basketball League, the league the Albany Patroons play in. There are 42 teams this year, and Dr. Maggs goal is to identify Drs. in each city to provide his Structural Fingerprint® Exam on all players, as well as ongoing treatment, in an effort to reduce injuries league-wide.
